Thanksgiving is for the Birds…

American Goldfinches feasting on sunflower head

A trio of American goldfinches, clad in winter plumage, find sustenance in spent sunflower heads. Goldfinches are most often found in flocks.

In much of the U.S., these birds are year-round residents.
Getting a meal sometimes requires acrobatic feats.

Happy Thanksgiving!
